Coldwater Alpaca Ranch & Pearl's Marketplace
A place where alpaca owners and those interested in buying alpacas can share information. We are now breeding and selling Angora goats also. Wow, that mohair is a great mix with alpaca!! Pearl's Marketplace is our farm store. We are constantly looking for ways to profit from our natural fibers.

Alpaca Felted Dryer Balls, our BEST item
Thousands of balls we have made. Thousands of balls we have sold. It's been almost 18 months since we started selling the dryer balls and we can't make them fast enough. Seems like no matter how many I bring to a show we always sell out. I get the nicest emails from customers too telling me how much they love the dryer balls. I always tell people that a business card is enclosed with their package of balls and that's so they can order some for friends or family after the have fallen in LOVE with them.

Getting ready for SHEARING DAY
20 Days til shearing! Time to get everything picked up, cleaned up and get organized about the event. There are a two or three vendors who want to come and demonstrate and sell their wares. Time to send out invitations. Hoping for great weather this year. We are due for a break, had rain the last 2 times.
Babies are growing like weeds (we have weeds too) and it is so fun to sit and watch them jump into the air and flip around. With alpaca crias they call it pronking. Not sure what they call it in goats but it sure is cute. Wow, all that energy.

Some sad news
Kira had a miscarriage/abortion. Don't know exactly which you call it. The doc came out and checked her yesterday and said the baby was gone. So sad, she is such a sweet girl and I was so excited for our first goat to be born on the farm. We will just have to look forward to new ones in April, which is when the next ones will be due. Bummer...
